An arc or curved line between the producer code and material code indicates that the Berdan primer pocket has just one flash hole rather than two.


This is a modern reproduction/fake with a plated case that is fluted and drilled.


aux = Polte Armaturen und Maschinenfabrik A.G., Poltestr. und Fichtestr., Werk Magdeburg, Sachsen-Anhalt, Prussia

The above specimens all have the Zdh 88 brass primer (corrosive)

Note the comma instead of the dot in the 7,9. This is the only specimen like this

All three these cartridges have a heavy 3 stab primer crimp

   Proof load. Remnants of the green base still visible. The headstamp is   aux – St   44  65


 

Note the difference in the font from 1944 to 1945

Interesting is the "open" 4 on the date on lot 12 as opposed to the "closed" 4 on lots 1 - 11

Probably a home made or fire-formed case from an old Sellier & Bellot 7.9 x57 case. The shoulder dimensions differ from factory loads.
