The 35 WWG was developed by Jim West of Wild West Guns, in Anchorage Alaska. It was announced at the 2019 Shot Show, but only officially launched in 2021. It started with the 457 WWG in January 1994 with Jim developing his own custom rifle, the Co-Pilot, a custom takedown lever action rifle designed for survival in the harsh Alaska wilderness and capable of fitting under the seat of a small airplane, blending his profession as a gunsmith, outfitter and pilot. The 35 WWG is chambered in the co-pilot rifle and is a necked down 457 WWG.
