The 7.65 Argentine Navy cartridge was designed by a Capt. Casey who used to be at DuPont who used a shortened 30-06 case and loaded with a 7.65mm bullet weighing 180gr. the prototype cases were from Frankford Arsenal. He proposed the design to the Argentine Naval Commission as an improved service cartridge for the Argentine Navy in modified Mauser Model 1891 rifles as well as artillery tubes. It was never designed as a match cartridge, and it was never used as such by either Argentina, Winchester or DuPont, although it was an improvement on the 7.65mm Mauser with 154gr. bullet used at the Camp Perry matches in 1913.
