It is believed that Collath first produced this cartridge in the early 1890’s for use in Collath rifles that were converted from Needlefire to Centre Fire. It was once a popular cartridge, as the name implies, was based on the English ‘.360’ case and was used for both Hunting and Target purposes as can be seen by the adapter cartridge below. It was produced by DWM under case #446 from 1896 and by Georg Roth as case #661 in 1898. Production from most European manufacturers ceased in the 1970’s with the only modern manufacture by Wofgang Romey. (Dixon Ref EXP19)
