The 458 Express 3” dates from 1998 with the first rifles chambered in 2000. It was developed by South African hunter Prof. Koos Badenhorst, whom I knew well and had long conversations about the different 458 calibers Below is the text from the old website...

Huge case with heavily rebated rim. Still trying to find info on this.    

   Created by Australina Chris Boon, it is based on the 300 WSM case shortened and necked up.

This last specimen was made by Ken Stewart for a private client, but we do not have any indication who it was.  

     450 ASSEGAI PROOF stamped on case

The 450 Ultra Magnum was designed by John Bolliger and is a 375 Remington Ultra Mag necked up to .458 caliber

Smaller in rim dimensions than the Sharps cases, but with larger body and head. Cyrus B. Holden used to work with Frank Wesson in the early 1870’s, but then began making his own single shot rifles. The brass case shown was made by Winchester. See Hoyem 4 p.109.
