There is currently not much known about this cartridge other that it was based on a shortened 7.5 × 54 MAS Mle 1929 case and was developed in the period right after WW2. The design was by the French Service Technique de l’Armement from a design sketch dated October 22, 1945. Currently there are no known original specimens, with the specimen below a commemorative cartridge by Maurice Megret for AFERHM (Association Française d’Etudes et de Recherches Historiques sur les Munitions, the French speaking group of the European Cartridge Research Association.
